It’s been almost 25 years since Will Ferrell made his debut on Global’s “Saturday Night Live”.
On Wednesday, “SNL” released a new “Stories from the Show” video in which the 52-year-old comedian reflects on joining the show and some of the shenanigans over his seven-year tenure.
Ferrell recalls thinking, when he first joined the show, This is going to be rough, adding that he was often “awestruck” by the seriousness behind the scenes.
The comedian also talks about a character he created called Ron whose catchphrase was simple, “I’m Ron,” and how he actually crashed the stage on a dare while Puff Daddy was rehearsing for a performance.
“Someone said, ‘Ron should go up onstage,’ and before everyone turned to see, I had sprinted out the door,” Ferrell says.
Later, “SNL” write Paula Pell asks Ferrell, still in character as Ron, “Hey, Ron, what’d you think about Puff?”
“I’m not familiar,” Ron responds. “He seemed fine.”
