Megyn Kelly Slammed For Comparing NBC Firing To Robert Downey Jr. Blackface Character

Megyn Kelly is not over being fired for her comments about blackface.

On Wednesday, the former “Today” show co-anchor tweeted out a link to an article in which Robert Downey Jr. defends donning blackface for his satirical role in the 2008 comedy “Tropic Thunder”.

“In my defence, ‘Tropic Thunder’ is about how wrong [blackface] is, so I take exception,” the actor had told podcast host Joe Rogan.

Kelly compared the praise for Downey received for the role against her own experience of losing her job for making comments defending blackface.

Many on Twitter, though, were not having any of Kelly’s argument. “Community” star Yvette Nicole Brown slammed her in response.

Others broke down the difference between Kelly’s comments and Downey’s character in the film, which was meant to satirize Hollywood.

Kelly did have some defenders on Twitter backing her up, though.
