Neil Young has officially landed south of the border.

The iconic Canadian singer is now officially a U.S. citizen. Young, 74, was spotted in Los Angeles on Wednesday with his citizenship paperwork and a small American flag in hand. He was joined by his wife, actress Daryl Hannah.

“I’m happy to report I’m in!” he wrote on his website. “Vote your conscience,” he added alongside a photo of him saluting next to a sign reading, “Democrats register to vote here.”

Young revealed in November that his history with marijuana had held up his citizenship process.

“When I recently applied for American citizenship, I passed the test. It was a conversation where I was asked many questions. I answered them truthfully and passed,” he wrote. “Recently, however, I have been told that I must do another test, due to my use of marijuana and how some people who smoke it have exhibited a problem.”

Young married Hannah, an American, in 2018. He was previously married to Pegi Young and Susan Acevedo.
