Meghan Markle will not be opening up in a talk show interview anytime soon despite previous rumours.
It was suggested Meghan may be sitting down with Ellen DeGeneres after she and Prince Harry stepped down as senior royals earlier this month.
However, a royal source has now told ET Canada the rumours are “categorically untrue.”
Meghan and Harry are friends with DeGeneres, with the host meeting baby Archie during a trip to the UK last summer.
The Duchess of Sussex first met DeGeneres at a dog shelter when she was deciding whether to adopt her first pet, Bogart.
Meghan said in an interview with Best Health back in 2016, “Ellen goes ‘Is that your dog?’ And I said, ‘No,’ and she’s like, ‘You have to take that dog.’ And I said, ‘Well, I’m deciding.’ And she’s like, ‘Rescue the dog!’
“It’s sort of like if Oprah tells you to do something. I’m sitting there holding him and she’s like ‘Have you thought of a name for him yet?’ And I said, ‘Well, I think I’d name him Bogart,’ and she’s like ‘You’re taking the dog home.’”
Meghan continued, “And she walks outside to get into her car but instead of getting in she turns around and comes and taps on the window glass and she yells ‘Take the dog!’ And so I brought him home. Because Ellen told me to.”
ET Canada has reached out to the palace for further comments.
