Lucy Davis holds her vegan beliefs close to her heart.
The actress, who currently stars on Netflix’s “The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina”, brings that lifestyle to set where she refuses to eat meat off or on camera. And that decision has an impact on her character’s development.
“[W]e had some episodes where my sister Zelda [Miranda Otto] talks of wanting to eat long pig,” she explained to PETA in a new interview. “Hilda [Davis] found all of this quite repulsive. Gradually as time went on and because obviously I don’t eat meat myself and I didn’t want to eat it in the scenes or anything, I noticed that a great script came along where Hilda made the Dark Lord a vegetable pie. [S]o I was really pleased.”
And her love for animals comes from her family.
“My nephew, for example, got chickens and he just loves them so much, so now he doesn’t eat chicken,” she says. “When you connect with loving people and loving [animals], all our energy changes around that.”
Davis is part of a long list of celebrities, like Sarah Jeffery, Madelaine Petsch, Kat Graham, Noah Cyrus and Bella Thorne, who’ve teamed up with PETA to promote kindness to animals.
“The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina” part three is streaming now on Netflix.
