Kelsea Ballerini has dropped the music video for her new track “LA”.
Ballerini sings about her love/hate relationship for the city in the song, with the video following the singer around some of her favourite spots.
Lyrics include, “I’m on my third glass a wine trying to find conversation in a room with bigger names.”
“Sometimes it feels like it’s all real / But nothin’ here is as it seems / I ask myself, does it feed my soul or my anxiety? Carpet’s red, ego’s fed, but it’s myself that I have to face…”
Ballerini, born in Mascot, Tenn., also shared an emotional post on Instagram, admitting the song was “the most vulnerable thing I’ve publicly shared.”

i wrote this song alone on a bathroom floor in Los Angeles last year feeling equal parts like somebody and like nobody, surrounded and completely alone, inspired and terrified, on top of the world and filled to the brim with anxiety. i was in between tour dates and left my guitar on the bus that particular week, so it came out as a stream of consciousness that fell into the form of a poem. as soon as I got to the bus a few days later it became this. it’s the most vulnerable thing I’ve publicly shared. it’s not cool to talk about not feeling cool. but it’s honest. and I’m really proud of every word of it. “la” is out NOW. 🌊☀️
“LA” is the third track Ballerini has shared from her upcoming third studio album, Kelsea.
She previously released “Homecoming Queen?” and “Club”.
Kelsea is set to be released March 20.
The singer says of the LP, “As I grow up, as a woman and an artist, I’ve felt myself changing my perspective, from my view on love and life, to how love and life make me feel.”
“Naturally that turns more personal, more therapeutic, and more rewarding. This album is honest, it’s country, it’s experimental, it’s fun, it’s introspective, and it’s 100 per cent me.”
