Chance the Rapper was recently announced as the new host of “Punk’d”, the upcoming revival for the soon-to-launch Quibi mobile streaming platform.
The “No Problem” rapper will be stepping into the shoes of original host Ashton Kutcher. While the show’s premise of pranking celebrities remains unchanged, the format has been given an overhaul, with each episode clocking in at less than 10 minutes in length (Quibi stands for “quick bites”).
On Sunday, Quibi shared a brief teaser of “Punk’d”, with Chance gleefully explaining his elaborate plan to play a practical joke on Megan Thee Stallion. In the prank, Megan believes that her beloved French bulldog had run off, placing her in a situation in which a fake gorilla busts out of a cage and terrifies her.
In the announcement from Quibi, Chance revealed he was a huge fan of the original “Punk’d”.
“‘Punk’d’ is one of MTV’s most iconic franchises,” said Chance. “I grew up watching this show, and it’s surreal to be in the driver’s seat this time around on Quibi.”
Quibi is set to launch on April 6.
