Keith Urban will be rushing home after the Grammys to take care of his wife Nicole Kidman.
Kidman is sick with the flu. It was obvious something was wrong when she didn’t walk the red carpet next to her country music superstar.
“My wife is home with the flu,” Urban said when asked where his wife was during PeopleTV’s 2020 Grammy Awards red carpet pre-show. “A lot of that going around.”
The 52-year-old singer stepped out for the 62nd annual Grammy Awards to present the show’s first award with actress Cynthia Erivo. He told the audience that Kidman is “in good hands” despite his absence.
“She’s home with our girls tonight and I’m heading home ASAP,” Urban said. The couple share daughters Sunday, 11, and Faith, 9, together.
While Keith had his mind on his sick wife, he was still looking forward to one specific aspect of the Grammys.
“I always think about the totally unexpected collaborations, so [I’m] looking forward to more of that tonight,” Urban told “People Now”‘s host Jeremy Parsons of PeopleTV and PEOPLE senior editor Janine Rubenstein.
The “Parallel Line” singer also said he’ll be releasing “a bunch” of new music this year.
“I can’t really categorize it,” Keith said about his upcoming tracks. “So I love people being able to decide what it is.”
