Harrison Ford has always had a canine companion.

The actor, 77, says he’s grown up around dogs as he talks his new adventure film, “Call Of The Wild”.

“You give them affection, companionship and in turn, they will love you,” he says of dogs. Ford spends plenty of time opposite a dog named Buck in the live-action and animation hybrid based on Jack London’s classic.

The Disney movie sees Ford and a sled dog named Buck have a life-changing adventure in the Yukon during the Gold Rush of the 1890s.

“Call Of The Wild” arrives in theatres on Feb. 20.
