Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson are not keen on raising their kids in the U.S.
Turner-Smith told the Sunday Times that “racial dynamics” and “white supremacy” in America has her looking elsewhere to raise a family.
“The racial dynamics over here are fraught. White supremacy is overt. It’s the reason I don’t want to raise my kids here,” Turner-Smith told the publication. “I don’t want my kids to grow up doing active shooter drills at school.”
“England has gone off the rails,” the British actress said. “So I was thinking maybe Canada.”
It is worth noting that her partner Jackson, is originally from Vancouver. Turner-Smith, meanwhile, was born in Peterborough, England. The pair picked up a marriage license in August, but have yet to publicly acknowledge their marital status.
“I haven’t said to anybody, ‘Yeah, we got married’, ” she said. “People are assuming whatever they want, but when people tell me ‘Congratulations’, I say ‘Thank you.'”
