Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman is already back to work after revealing that he admitted himself into a detox facility for a substance abuse problem that included both prescription pills and, most recently, heroin.
A source confirms to ET that Hoffman, known for his roles in Capote, The Master and Almost Famous, struggled with drug abuse 23 years ago, but after relapsing over a year ago, checked himself into a 10-day detox program on the East Coast. The 45-year-old actor claims his heroin use only lasted a week, and credits a “great group of friends and family”; for getting him the help he needed.
The source also confirms to ET that Hoffman is already back on set, and shooting a movie in Europe.
