An Italian jail is about to get a little more stylish. Fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were sentenced to one year and eight months in jail for tax evasion on June 19, 2013, BBC reports.
The designers, whose fashion house hosted Madonna’s NYC MDMA screening the night prior, are accused of hiding millions of euros from Italian authorities.
According to BBC, “the judge ruled that the designers moved their brand to a Luxembourg-based holding company Gado in 2004.”;
This, the judge says, was to avoid declaring taxes on “royalties of around 1 billion euros.”;
