UPDATE: The misdemeanor hit-and-run charge against Chris Brown has been dropped, with Van Nuys Superior Court judge saying a “civil compromise”; has been reached between the R&B singer and the victim. No money exchanged hands, but it is reported that the other motorist agreed to the deal because she was being “castigated”; on social media.

Chris Brown is once again in hot water after the Los Angeles city attorney’s office has officially charged the singer with misdemeanor hit-and-run, as well as driving without a valid license.

But the musician is fighting back on Twitter today, saying the charges are “ridiculous”; and that there was no damage to the vehicle that was involved in a minor accident back on May 21 in the San Fernando Valley.

An arraignment hearing is schedule for July 15, but Chris can have his lawyer appear on his behalf. If found guilty of the charges, the troubled star could face up to one year of jail time.

Chris plans to “clear his name”; of all charges, Tweeting that he didn’t run and gave the woman of the other vehicle his information.
