It was T.J. Jackson’s turn to take the stand today. The “3T’ singer gave a moving testimony in his family’s wrongful death lawsuit against This Is It concert promoter AEG Live.
Who is T.J. Jackson you might ask? He’s Michael Jackson’s nephew, son to Tito Jackson, and the co-guardian to Michael’s two children, Paris and Prince Jackson. “My primary things are my kids, my cousins and my family,”; T.J. said
The “3T’ singer broke down when questioned about his close relationship with Michael. After taking a few minutes to bow his head and cry, T.J. responded, “he was just everything.”;
“My mother was murdered a month after I turned 16. My world crumbled and my uncle Michael saved it.”;
Growing up, T.J. shared that Michael played a large role in his life and was always there to lend an ear. “He was just, he was there. He kept me inspired, he kept me ambitious, he was just there for me,”; T.J. explained.
As co-guardian to Paris and Prince, T.J. told the jury he is teaching them to be ambitious, giving, loving and honest; he wants to see them make their own mark in the world, just like their father did.
It was Michael’s mom, Katherine Jackson, who filed the civil suit on behalf of her son’s estate against AEG Live. The Jackson family claims that AEG Live was negligent in the handling of the singer’s medical care in the period leading up to the high-anticipated This Is It. The trial is now in its ninth week.
