True to form, ESPN celebrates sport and its best (and sexiest!) bodies in the 5th annual Body Issue hitting newsstands this Friday — run, don’t walk.
Inside you’ll find 20 athletes from the worlds of golf, boxing, and even rock climbing, revealing every inch of their chiseled bodies, and putting the rest of us to shame. Famous physiques such as beach volleyball’s Kerri Walsh Jennings — posing pre and post pregnancy — and the NBA’s John Wall pose in well thought-out positions, cleverly disguising their bits and pieces.
The chiseled body of Canadian Joffrey Lupul and Maple Leaf alternate captain makes the cut too. Standing at 6-foot-1 and 206 pounds of pure muscle, he poses in one photograph with his beloved hockey stick and glides across the frame in another. He has official renewed our faith in the Leafs!
But don’t be too jealous of his rock hard abs — it’s not so easy being Joffrey. “What hockey players play through on a day-to-day basis is pretty unbelievable. I’ve had head injuries, back injuries, a separated shoulder, a broken arm,”; shares the left winger with ESPN.
“One year I had a wrist fracture and there were 10 games left in the season, and I just go injected before every game. Didn’t think anything of it. But you mention it to somebody and their reaction is: Are you nuts?”;
