Dream no more Veronica Mars fans, the trailer for the upcoming movie based on the popular Kristen Bell series was debuted this Friday Night at Comic Con.
After the series ended back in 2007, show creator Rob Thomas began writing a script that would chronicle the continuing storyline in a feature film format. Fast forward to a year and a half ago when a crowd-funding campaign is launched on Kickstarter and fans contribute a whopping $2 Million in 10 hours to help the project come to life (months later, the final tally hit the $5 Million mark).
The 5-minute docu-trailer shows Veronica returning back to Neptune for her high school reunion where she’s drawn right back into her PI life. It also includes footage from the set, commentary from the cast, and highlights the fans who contributed so much to the funding campaign they made it in as extras. As Kristen notes in the clip, “Fans are cool, but Veronica Mars fans are awesome. That’s just kind of the way it works.”;
The movie is slated for a 2014 theatrical release.
