Performing on the show’s Oct. 4 episode, Megan sent a bold, politically charged message in which she called for the protection of Black women and blasted Cameron over his handling of the Breonna Taylor case.
The performance nearly came to a halt as Megan’s socially potent message played on the massive screens, punctuated by the sounds of gunshots — calling out both the prevalence of police shootings and Stallion’s own hospitalization after getting shot in her feet.

Last month, Cameron announced that none of the police officers involved in the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor on March 13 would be charged.
The Attorney General appeared on “Fox News’ Fox & Friends” on Tuesday, Oct. 7, to address the “SNL” call-out.
Daniel Cameron explains the attacks on his character are "something that I’ve had to experience because I’m a black Republican, because I stand up for truth & justice as opposed to giving in to a mob mentality" & it exposes leftist intolerance & hypocrisy.pic.twitter.com/sgPhDhERVZ

He said, “Let me just say that I agree that we need to love and protect our Black women. There’s no question about that. But the fact that someone would get on national television and make disparaging comments about me because I’m simply trying to do my job is disgusting.
“The fact that a celebrity that I never met before wants to make those sorts of statements … they don’t hurt me, but what it does is, it exposed the type of intolerance and the hypocrisy because obviously, people preach about being intolerant.
“You hear a lot of that from the left about being tolerant. But what you saw there is inconsistent with tolerance. In fact, it’s her disposing intolerance because I’ve decided to stand up for truth and justice.”
Megan’s performance was met with wide acclaim and support on social media, with many commending her for using her voice and platform for a purpose.

The thing is Megan Thee Stallion did that for all Black women. But she also did that for herself. Y’all can’t silence her or us as a collective

As expected, Megan thee Stallion used her #SNLPremiere debut to highlight the Misogynoir that Black Women face. I’m very proud of her + I’m so pleased to see this message on a national scale.
