Emily VanCamp is grunge glam on the cover of Nylon magazine’s September 2013 fashion issue. The 27-year-old actress is talking about her big break, the paparazzi and passion projects.

“They could have hired someone with a bigger name and banked on that,”; Emily says of her big break snagging the lead role in the hit series Revenge. “They took a chance on me and it’s brought on a whole new collection of opportunities.”;

Speaking of projects, Emily will also star in the sequel to Captain America, Winter Soldier and told the magazine about the love of her craft. “I felt like I was stuck in a rut playing the same thing. I promised myself after leaving Brothers & Sisters that I would only do something that made me happy, that excited me, that was different,”; the actress says. “I wasn’t going to compromise my creative integrity just for money, or to stay relevant.”;

Now the interview wasn’t all about things Emily loves, the actress sounds off on being photographed in public. “It should be illegal for people to stalk you with cameras,”; she says. “It’s really invasive. How do you enjoy a moment?,”; she asks adding, “I see how people spiral out of control.”;
