The fact that Ryan Reynolds is a handsome, A-list movie star who has dated the likes of Scarlett Johansson (who he was briefly married to) and Blake Lively (who he is currently married to) may lead you to assume that he is a well-adjusted individual with no insecurities whatsoever. But as Reynolds recently explained to Cosmopolitan UK, this is not the case.
“Acting has given me a way to channel my angst,”; The Green Lantern star reveals. “I feel like an overweight, pimply-faced kid a lot of the time. And finding a way to access that insecurity and put it towards something creative is incredibly rewarding.”;
In fact, it wasn’t until relatively recently that Reynolds began to develop a sense of confidence. “Up until I was, like, 18, I looked like a Vietnamese girl. I remember it took me a while to actually talk to girls. During elementary school I used to accidentally fall on girls during volleyball practice.”;
Although R.I.P.D., his most recent film, died a quick death at the box office, Reynolds has two projects lined up for next year which look considerably more promising: Queen of the Night, a thriller by acclaimed Canadian director Atom Egoyan, and The Voices, a horror thriller by the director of Persepolis.
