Kate Moss is no cover rookie, having graced the likes of Vogue, and Harper’s Bazaar since the early ’90s. But, now the supermodel is taking it all off to celebrate the 60th anniversary issue of Playboy magazine.

“She’s a worldwide celebrity and iconic and crosses the boundaries from sexual imagery to upscale modeling,”; Playboy founder Hugh Hefner says, “it’s natural for us.”;

Usually associated with “heroin chic”; thanks to her androgynous body and waif look, Moss transformed into a sex kitten for the cover. Glamming it up in the quintessential Playmate uniform, Kate dons velveteen bunny ears, French cuffs and silk stockings.

The full frontal pictorial, arriving just in time for Moss’ 40th birthday, is nothing new for the supermodel. She has stripped down for Love magazine, Vogue Brazil, as well in ads for David Yurmen jewelry and St. Tropez tanning products.

Marcus Pigott and Mert Atlas shot the cover for the redesigned and newly upscale magazine, bringing about a conscious nod to the magazine’s past in the January/February double issue.

“This creates a heat for the brand globally,”; editorial director Jimmy Jellinek says. “It started with Marilyn Monroe on the cover of Playboy 60 years ago, an icon for her time. Now we’ve got Kate Moss!”;
