Miley Cyrus’ performance at the iHeartRadio music festival started off with a bang, but ended in tears while the pop star sang her latest single, “Wrecking Ball.”

This comes days after Miley, 20, and her fiance, 23-year-old actor Liam Hemsworth, called it quits. The singer thanked the audience for helping the track make it to the to top of the Billboard Hot chart.

“I couldn’t have done it without all of you guys,” she told her fans, admitting that her behaviour as of late may be landing her more than a few detractors: “It’s just me doing what my heart and soul is telling me what to do,” she said adding that everything she’s done is “inspired by the music.”

Her set at the music festival included, “We Can’t Stop,” “Party in the USA,” and her cover of the song “Look What They’ve Done to My Song” which included lyrics like “They think I’m half insane” and “I wish I could find a book to live in.” The track is on her newest album, Bangerz set for release next month.
