Well, he oughta know: Dave Coulier confirmed what many believed for year’s–Alanis Morisette’s explosive hit song, “You Oughta Know”; is in fact about him!
The actor, who starred as Uncle Joey for eight seasons on the TV show Full House said in an interview recently that the 1995 single from Alanis’ album, Jagged Little Pill, was about their relationship. The song marked the singer/songwriter’s new direction as a rock artist and featured hell-hath-no-fury-like-a-woman-scorned lyrics.
The two dated in the 90s and when the song was released, Dave says he called Alanis to ask what he should say if the media came inquiring about the connection.
“She said, ‘You can say whatever you want,”;”; he recalls in the interview with HuffPost Live. He added that one of the lines in the song–”I hate to bug you in the middle of dinner”;–is definitely about him.
“We had already broken up… She called and I said, ‘Hey, you know, I’m right in the middle of dinner. Can I just call you right back?'”;
