Drake is in a reflective state of mind. The Canadian rapper agreed to do a live interview at NYU this week as part of the CRWN series as presented by Myspace. The website will roll out the interview in three parts (there will be questions about Degrassi), but for the first installation we’ve learned that Drake is “over’ Kendrick’s diss to the rapper on his song “Control,’ in which he tells Drake to step his game up. He also views Kanye West as a role model, as opposed to other rappers of his generation, like Lamar and Frank Ocean.
Said Drake, “When it comes to competition, I’m more worried about consistency, about bodies of work. I’m talking about hit records . . . that’s Kanye West… He’s always going to be the guy who’s trying to outthink and out-do. That’s my guy that I aspire to surpass.”; Watch the three-part series via Myspace starting this Wednesday.
