This year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival in Sin City featured a heavenly line-up of stars, including Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry and Paul McCartney, to name a few. But once again Miley Cyrus made headlines when she teared up during her performance of Wrecking Ball, but her emotional moment was just one of the memorable events of the weekend.
Sunday night Avril Lavigne rocked the stage while her other half, Chad Kroeger took on the Rock in Rio Festival in Brazil with his band Nickelback. But the pop-punk princess tells our Erin Cebula, they are about to have a big reunion just in time for her 29th birthday on Friday: “My husband is in South America right now, but he’s flying to LA to meet me for my birthday, and that’s all I want!”;
Avril was by no means lonely though, not only did she have a blast on the iHeartRadio stage, another famous Canuck was on hand to offer her moral support. “I saw Drake, Katy [Perry] was on last night, we were both watching her set,”; she tells us. “I was like “yeah Canada!’ And he gave me a big hug!”;
And while pop’s hottest acts, like Robin Thicke, Maroon 5 and Bruno Mars dominated the two-day festival, country music also has a strong showing. Keith Urban, Tim McGraw and The Band Perry didn’t hold back, despite the sweltering heat. “We always say, if people aren’t sweating at a Band Perry show, they’re not having fun,”; explains Neil Perry. “So it looked like everyone was having a great time today.”;
