To commemorate the Christening of Prince George, who was born on July 22, coins have been produced by the Royal Mint in South Wales.

These are the first ever royal christening coins created in the UK and were approved by William and Kate.

The design features the Lily Font from the Tower of London and harp-playing cherubs. On the coin the words “Dieu et mon droit”; are written meaning “God and my right.”;

The coins cost roughly $10 and are available in silver and gold. It is believed that if silver crosses a baby’s palm it brings good health and prosperity. The Royal Mint has said they’ve received thousands of pre-orders from around the world and in the UK.
Prince George, who is just two months old will be christened at the Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace on October 23.
