Chris Colfer may be best known for his role as Kurt on Glee, but the Golden Globe-winning star has been carving out a whole new niche for himself as a New York Times bestselling author thanks to the runaway success of his Land of Stories children’s book series.

Chris is clearly no flash in the pan, as he’s just signed a deal with top publishing imprint Little, Brown to publish the next two books in the series, as well as his first-ever picture book.

The Land of Stories has been an incredible journey for me as a writer, and I am so happy the series has a home at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers,”; the Glee star said in a statement. “The fan support and love for these characters has been more than a dream come true — I’m humbled and excited to be able to share these new adventures with my readers.”;

The third book in the Land of Stories series is scheduled for a fall 2014 release, with book four coming out the following year. Chris will also produce an original picture book called The Curvy Tree. Featuring illustrations by Brandon Dorman, The Curvy Tree is based on a tale from Colfer’s The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell, and is set to come out in spring 2015.

The multi-talented actor/singer/writer also wrote the screenplay for Struck By Lightning, the 2011 coming-of-age film in which he also starred.
