The Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing will spend an entire week honouring two-time Grammy Award winner Neil Young. The seventh edition of their annual Grammy Week will celebrate Young, alongside past winners like Quincy Jones and T-Bone Burnett. The ceremony honouring Young will take place in Los Angeles January 21st as a lead-up to the official Grammys on Sunday, January 26th.
Not only an excellent musician, Young’s extensive humanitarian efforts and campaigns for social justice are what put the Canadian rock icon on a whole other level.
Said president/CEO Neil Portnow of The Recording Academy, “This year, it is with great honour that we pay tribute to a musical icon who has been tireless in his own efforts to draw attention to the importance of hearing music as the artists who created it intended, and who has continually set precedents of excellence within the music community. The contributions of Neil Young are innumerable, as is his incomparable body of work, and we look forward to an unforgettable evening with this legendary artist.”;
