It seems only yesterday that Ron Burgundy — San Diego’s native son — stopped by the Conan O’Brien Show to announce that he and the Action 4 news team would be going back to work. (It was actually March 28, 2012 but other than YouTube, who’s counting).
Today, the legend continues to grow, as another trailer for Anchorman 2 has been released. As illustrated in this earlier trailer, the film is not veering too far away from the formula that was so successful in the original, with the news team — and Ron, in particular — finding it difficult to assimilate to an evolving workplace.
Watch as Ron trips his way through race relations, just as he did gender relations in the first movie. Watch as Brick’s dimness prevents him from noticing that he is, in fact, not dead. Watch the trailer over and over again because it hints at a movie that should be every bit as good as the original. See for yourself.
(The video’s “About’ section lists a Countdown Clock to the film’s premiere in December but after following the link and perusing a “select a country’ dropdown menu that didn’t include Canada, I couldn’t find a time monitor of any kind.)
