Although a report emerged that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler had just signed a lucrative deal that would see them pocket $4 million — each! — for hosting the Golden Globe Awards, the stars themselves refute this, claiming they’ll earn substantially less.
Yesterday, RadarOnline ran a story quoting a source who claimed that the SNL alums had “decided to ask for the craziest package ever given to awards hosts…they are each being paid more than any Oscar host in history with the exception of Billy Crystal”; (Billy reportedly received $5 million when he stepped in to host the 2012 Academy Awards after original host Eddie Murphy dropped out at the 11th hour).

According to Vanity Fair, however, a rep for Amy and Tina says the RadarOnline figure is “grossly exaggerated,”; and the magazine cites “industry sources”; who claim the typical fee for hosting an award show “generally tops out in the low six figures.”;
Regardless of what they earn, if last year’s performance is any indication, they’re worth every penny!
