Universal and Focus Features have yet to comment on the Fifty Shades of Grey re-casting, but the bestselling author has confirmed the news that Jamie Dornan will now play the lead role of Christian Grey.
Author E L James tweeted the exciting new that Dornan will bring the character to the big screen in the film adaptation:

The Irish actor is a former Calvin Klein model and of Once Upon A Time and Marie Antoinette fame.
Charlie Hunnam was originally cast for the role, before backing out on October 12.
And this isn’t the only Fifty Shades casting news! True Blood star Luke Grimes has reportedly just signed on to star as Dornan (the new Christian Grey)’s brother in the film according to Variety.
Yet to be cast are the roles of Dakota Johnson’s character Anastasia’s roommate Kate and Christian’s bodyguard.
