She toured with Toronto’s own The Weeknd last year – she’s been labelled a rising star by Billboard Magazine and she sold out her eight city tour in a matter of days! Now Banks is preparing to give her music to the world, releasing Goddess September 9. “I am just really excited. It’s my whole heart, my whole brain, it’s everything. It’s a little bit scary but I am really excited to get it out there.”;
While hitting up Toronto, we sat down with the 26-year-old LA native at The Hoxton. And she told us her top collaboration dream comes from this city…Drake! Dressed all in black for the interview, the singer certainly has an image that stands out – leading the fashion world to take notice! Back in March she graced the cover of V Magazine’s Music Issue, along with Lorde and Haim. “That was so crazy. When I was younger I loved looking at those magazines and V always stood out to me because it’s the biggest one and the shiniest one. I love it. And my manager knew that and when he called me I didn’t even believe him.”;
As word continues to spread on the alternative R&B songstress, more and more fans want to see her live – which is probably why she announced a new tour with 18 shows across North America, with a stop in Toronto on October 3.
“It’s been amazing, just, you know seeing people sing along to my words and stuff like that – there’s nothing better.”;
Tune in to ET Canada tonight at 7;30 pm ET to see our interview with the rising star.
