You would think a chanteuse as experienced and majestic as Celine Dion could do anything with her voice. Not so.
As evidenced by this clip in which the Quebecoise singer takes to a Las Vegas studio to record her new song “Incredible”;, she needed a little bit of help from her duet partner, R&B singer Neyo.
We’re not sure where or how Ms. Dion was taught to sing but she clearly skipped the lecture on street slang, having to turn to Neyo for a lesson in inflection and redundant syllables. The secret, she concludes in an interview on The Today Show in September, is to “not make it sound too pretty, like it’s just waking up, this little edge in your voice… Not to learn [a new singing technique] but to try not to make it too perfect and to loosen up.”;
