Get your popcorn and earbuds ready, because a pair of songs from two of the biggest movies still to arrive in theatres in 2013 have found their way online.

(Health Note: Do not get popcorn grease on your earbuds. That would be gross and possibly hazardous to your health.)

The soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has already had a few cuts released for public consumption (Coldplay’s “Atlas”;, Sia’s “Elastic Heart”;, and Christina Aguilera’s “We Remain”; just to name a few) and now fans can check out The National’s contribution to the popular YA series. “Lean”; isn’t exactly as heavy as the usual fare from the Cincy/Brooklyn rockers, but Matt Berninger’s trademark emotional intensity is definitely still in the equation.

It’s pretty swell.

Another major movie sequel had a soundtrack offering bubble up online this week. Ed Sheeran’s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug song “I See Fire”; is now ready to be given a listen. The accompanying video for the song features the UK singer going through the process of constructing the tune in studio. Anyone hoping for Sheeran doing an elaborately choreographed dance number with Bilbo Baggins will be greatly disappointed, but there are clips from the film nestled into the promo, so it’s not all just highlights of a recording session.
