ET Canada recently spoke with NCIS stars Mark Harmon and Michael Weatherly, who had lots to share about TV’s top-rated drama.

In fact, Harmon admits that after 11 seasons playing NCIS head honcho Leroy Jethro Gibbs, the character still feels fresh.

“Do you still feel as excited and engaged in Gibbs as when you first signed on?”; asks ET Canada“s Erin Cebula in the interview, which airs on ET Canada tonight. “Oh yes,”; he replies. “Absolutely.”;

For Weatherly, who plays NCIS agent Tony DiNozzo, the show’s continuing success is even sweeter considering NCIS didn’t get a lot of buzz when it first launched back in 2003 as a spinoff of military legal drama JAG.

“We were on the air for a long time as kind of an underdog,”; says Weatherly. “Even now I think people underestimate the show.”;

This season of NCIS brings an added element of change with the departure of longtime star Cote de Pablo, who will be replaced later this month with actress Emily Wickersham coming on board as the newest member of the team, NSA analyst Ellie Bishop

“I was worried actually when [Cote] said she wasn’t coming back this year and what was going to happen,”; admits Weatherly, who reveals there are no hard feelings between Cote and the rest of her former NCIS cast-mates. “I just saw Cote the other day,”; he says, “and we sat and drank several bottles of wine.”;

NCIS fans won’t want to miss this interview on tonight’s edition of ET Canada, airing at 7:30 p.m. EST/PST on Global — and they’ll want to stay tuned for an all-new episode of NCIS airing immediately afterward, at 8 p.m. EST/PST on Global.
