Tina Turner has lived nearly 5,000 miles away from Nutbush City Limits for quite some time now and it’s been revealed that the singer has taken an extra step to keep it that way.
The rock “n’ roll legend has formally relinquished her U.S. citizenship.
It’s a move that isn’t all that much of a surprise to anyone that’s been keeping track of the “Proud Mary”; star’s personal life. Turner has been living in Switzerland for close to two decades now, moving to the European nation with her partner German record executive Erwin Bach.
The songstress applied for Swiss citizenship early in 2013. She passed the country’s citizenship test and officially became recognized as Swiss in April. A few months later, Turner and Bach made another life milestone official: The two got married in a civil ceremony beside Lake Zurich.
