After Mariah Carey blased American Idol in a radio interview last week, saying the experience was “like going to work every day in hell with Satan,”; her husband, America’s Got Talent host Nick Cannon, denies that “Satan”; was Mariah’s nickname for rival judge Nicki Minaj.
“I don’t think she was speaking directly about [Nicki Minaj],”; Cannon said in an interview with Access Hollywood. “I think she was talking about the situation in general. In her mind, it’s bigger than that. If my wife wanted to [call Minaj Satan], she would’ve said that. She has no problem [saying] how she feels!”;
Furthermore, Nick says Mariah’s problems with the show weren’t related to Nicki, but to the show adding a fourth judge when she had been told there would only be three.
“[Mariah] was like, “You said it was going be this, and then it turned out to be this,'”; said Nick. “From that point on, it was just bad.”;
