Kelly survives the 'From Justin to Kelly' film flop
American Idol / Fox
Alright, so sometimes artists have to play roles that may not be the best thing for their career, but then there are artists like Kelly Clarkson who are able to defy the odds to some degree. From Justin to Kelly came out in 2003 and the musical comedy saw the former American Idol contestants frolicking in the sun while belting out tunes. Both Clarkson and Guarini were obligated to star in the movie as part of their commitment to American Idol. Unfortunately, From Justin to Kelly was a massive bust in the box office and the film is one of the all-time fastest releases to DVD (29 days).Still, the cheesy 'waste of time' flick didn't impede on Clarkson's already rising stock.
Kelly engineers her Breakaway
"Here's the thing, we started out friends..." The multi-platinum record (which included a number of Clarko co-writes) boasted such hits as "Behind These Hazel Eyes," "Because of You" and the gargantuan "Since U Been Gone." A Best Pop Vocal Grammy would later be awarded to this full-length gem.

Kelly Clarkson has received plenty of exclusive invites and opportunities, but perhaps one of the biggest affairs was the performance of "Ave Maria" in 2008 at Saint Joseph's Seminary in Yonkers, New York. To have that dream come true on such a special occasion is truly a blessing." A nice bucket list achievement indeed, don't you agree?

Kelly Clarkson may have leaped the charts with a stack of pop-friendly tracks (she's hit the #1 spot on numerous Billboard charts including the 'Hot 100', 'Mainstream Top 40', and 'Hot Dance Club Play'), but her country roots were ripened thanks to the support of industry heavyweights like the queen of country, Reba McEntire. The two collaborated on the track "Because of You" in 2007, which ended up receiving numerous award nods including a nomination for an Academy of Country Music Award (ACM). Both singers went on tour together in 2008, which is something that many young artists dream of. There's nothing better than having strong guidance from a woman who knows the business inside and out. Reba McEntire also happens to be Clarkson's fiance's stepmother.
