The fourth edition of the collaborative series “Genius” between Disney+ and National Geographic announces four new cast members for “MLK/X”.
Kelvin Harrison Jr. will play Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Aaron Pierre will play Malcolm X, Weruche Opia will play Coretta Scott King and Jayme Lawson will play Betty Shabazz.
The latest edition of the drama anthology series will explore the lives and careers of famous activists Martin Luther King Jr. and Macolm X, who both fought for racial equality.
'Billy Knight' Finds Its Lead In Al Pacino

He joins Charlie Heaton and Diana Silvers in the film, said to be a “love letter to cinema.”
It follows two aspiring filmmakers (Heaton and Silvers) as Heaton struggles with his failing career as a screenwriter while mourning his father. He sets out to find the mysterious Billy Knight.

Lisa Kudrow is joining Apple TV+’s new series “Time Bandits”, a new adaptation of the 1981 Terry Gilliam film.
She joins already announced cast members Kal-El Tuck, Charlyne Yi, Tadhg Murphy, Roger Jean Nsengiyumva, Rune Temte, Kiera Thompson and Rachel House.
The Taika Waititi-led series is described as a “comedic journey through time and space with a ragtag group of thieves and their newest recruit: an 11-year-old history nerd.”
Jennifer Ehle Joins 'Yellowstone' Prequel '1923'

The upcoming "Yellowstone" prequel series "1923" is is adding to its already star-studded cast.
"Pride and Prejudice" star Jennifer Ehle will be joining Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, James Badge Dale and more in the series, exploring the Dutton family's experience in the early twentieth century.
Ehle will play Sister Mary O’Connor, an Irish nun that teaches at the School For American Indians in Montana.
The series is a follow-up to the already-running prequel "1883".
Arden Cho & Momona Tamada Join 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'

The live-action series adaptation of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" has added two new members to the cast.
Arden Cho will play June , "a tough and persistent bounty hunter known for her ruthless efficiency."
Momona Tamada has been cast as Ty Lee, "an energetic and upbeat teen and one of Princess Azula’s best friends."
The pair join a huge ensemble that also includes "Prey" star Amber Midthunder, Danny Pudi, George Takei and more.
‘True Detective’ Unveils New Roster

HBO’s crime drama anthology “True Detective” has added John Hawkes (“Deadwood”), Christopher Eccleston (“Doctor Who”), Fiona Shaw (“Killing Eve”), Finn Bennett (“Domina”) and Anna Lambe (“Trickster”) to the season 4 roster.
The upcoming season, which is currently in pre-production, will see Hawkes play Hank Prior, a police officer; Eccleston play Ted Corsaro, the regional Chief of Police who has a long history tying him to Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster); Shaw play Rose Aguineau, a survivalist with a past full of secrets; Bennett play Peter Prior, Danvers’ protégé and apprentice; and Lambe will play Kayla Malee, a young nurse with little patience for anybody that messes with her family, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
Storm Reid Lands Leading Role In ‘The Nun 2’

Storm Reid (“Euphoria”) will take on the lead role in the New Line sequel to 2018’s “The Nun”. Details surrounding the horror film and its characters are being kept under wraps. However, the new story will likely remain set in the 1950s with the nun having yet to be defeated, though some may believe otherwise. Shooting will begin in October.
“The Nun 2” is set for release on Sept. 8, 2023.
Otmara Marrero & Katie Clarkson-Hill Set To Star In ‘Switch & Bait’

Otmara Marrero (“Start-Up”) and rising star Katie Clarkson-Hill (“Hanna”) have been cast in Catalyst Studios’ action-packed film “Switch & Bait”, a story of a “seemingly naïve call girl (Clarkson-Hill) who escapes the clutches of a notorious gangster with a cell phone containing all his secrets,” Variety reports.
Marrero will play “a tough female cop who may or may not be crooked.” She is “given the job to get the witness, on time and in one piece to testify. However, it soon emerges that not everyone is who they pretend to be.”
The forthcoming film is Catalyst Studios’ first project to begin physical production after it launched its banner in May. Principal photography has already begun in Belgrade, Serbia.
Sarah Paulson Is On 'The Way Down'

The supremely versatile Sarah Paulson has her sights set on a new project. Paulson will portray Gwen Shamblin, founder of the diet program Weigh Down Workshop and Remnant Fellowship, per Variety. Paulson will star in a scripted version of the HBO Max investigative docu-series of "The Way Down".
Orlando Bloom To Star In ‘Gran Turismo’ With David Harbour

Orlando Bloom is joining David Harbour and rising actor Archie Madekwe in the Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions feature adaptation of the best-selling racing video game “Gran Turismo”.
Bloom is set to play a hungry marketing exec who sells the sport of motor racing. Cast and crew will head to Europe the week of Sept. 19 to begin shooting the new film, which has a slotted theatrical release date for Aug. 11, 2023.

Written by Michael Burgner and co-starring Julia Butters and Taylor Schilling, the film follows twin siblings Lily (Butters) and Sam (Tremblay) who live at a remote homestead with their widowed father, Malcolm (Freeman), a violin maker in 1931 Oregon. When Lily and Sam find an Icelandic spell book in the cellar, they suspect a connection exists between their mother’s death and dark forces in the woods.

According to Variety, the show is set in the small town of Avalon on Catalina Island just off the coast of Los Angeles. Campbell plays a sheriff-detective who gets pulled into a career-defining mystery. Pasquale plays another sheriff who is assigned to the island.
David E. Kelly and Michael Connelly will executive-produce the series which is based on a short story by Connelly.
Sam Heughan To Star In ‘Days Gone’ Video-Game Adaptation

“Outlander” star Sam Heughan will take the lead role in the film adaptation of the popular PlayStation 4 game “Days Gone”.
The game is set in the Pacific Northwest after a global pandemic and follows Deacon St. John, a former motorcycle club member. He struggles to survive in this new devastating world and find the love of his life, all the while fending off mutated humans.
The project is in development from Sony PlayStation productions who saw success with their last video-game adaptation “Uncharted”.

Graham Greene is set to join Alice Moran in the comedy-mystery "Paige Darcy and the Case of the Stoned Cat", according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Greene will join fellow Canadian Andrew Phung alongside actors Linda Kash, Dan Jeannotte, and Paloma Nunez, with filming set to take place in Hamilton, ON through August.
A synopsis reads: "A former precocious tween sleuth who has grown into an underachieving millennial works to solve a murder and the mystery of how to put her life back together."

Simone Kessell To Play Adult Version Of Lottie in ‘Yellowjackets’

Showtime has found its grown-up Lottie in Simone Kessell for season 2 of “Yellowjackets”.
The series takes place between two timelines: following a group of soccer players as teens stranded in the Ontario wilderness, and then as adults dealing with the aftermath of the traumatic experience.
The teen version of the character is played by Courtney Eaton in season 1 of the show.
Colin Farrell Detective Series Recruits Kirby Howell-Baptiste

Farrell is set to executive-produce the feature with creator Mark Protosevich whose previous projects include “Thor” and “I Am Legend”.
Oscar nominee Fernando Meirelles will direct the upcoming series.
While Howell-Baptiste’s role is unknown at this time, the series is said to be set in L.A. and is a contemporary take on the private detective story.
Jack Quaid Lands Role In Audio Drama Series ‘Grim Death & Bill’

Jack Quaid will star in Echoverse’s “Grim Death & Bill The Electrocuted Criminal”, a scripted podcast series from “Hellboy”’s Mike Mignola and author Thomas Sniegoski. “The Boys” star will play Bentley Hawthorne, a.k.a. Grim Death, who “works in the service of Death, avenging the wrongful deaths of those in need of justice.” Helping him is the subject of the first season’s investigation, Bill, “a strong but gentle man who has been wrongfully convicted of the murder of his trapeze-artist girlfriend Tianna.”

Robert De Niro is returning to his roots in “Wise Guys”.
The film will be directed by “Rain Man” and “Wag the Dog” filmmaker Barry Levinson, with a script by Nicholas Pileggi who wrote Wiseguy, the basis for “Goodfellas”.
The gangster drama follows two Italian-American crime bosses who run their families in the middle of the 20th century. Genovese attempts to assassinate Costello in 1957, injuring him and forcing him into retirement.
De Niro is set to play both roles.
Mark Wahlberg To Star In Apple Original Films And Skydance Joint Film
Mark Wahlberg will take centre stage in the action-comedy “The Family Plan”.
The project is part of the partnership between Apple Original Films and Skydance Media.

David Attenborough To Host BBC Nature Series ‘Wild Isles’
Sir David Attenborough will host a brand new nature series for BBC. The five-episode series tentatively titled "Wild Isles" will showcase flora and fauna around Britain and Ireland, focusing on themes of woodlands, grasslands, freshwater and marine.
“In my long lifetime, I have travelled to almost every corner of our planet,” said Attenborough in a statement. “I can assure you that in the British Isles, as well as astonishing scenery there are extraordinary animal dramas and wildlife spectacles to match anything I have seen on my global travels.”

Lucy Liu Jumps Onboard ‘A Man In Full’
Lucy Liu, 53, will be joining the new TV adaptation of legendary author Tom Wolfe’s novel but the same name. “A Man In Full” follows a once prosperous real estate mogul who finds himself bankrupt and surrounded by people trying to profit from his bad luck.
The “Charlie’s Angels” actress will play Joyce Newman, the founder of a thriving clean beauty company. Liu joins stars Diane Lane and Jeff Daniels in the series set to release on Netflix.
“A Man In Full” is being written by David E. Kelly and directed by Regina King.
Emily Blunt Teams Up With Ryan Gosling For New Movie ‘The Fall Guy’

Emily Blunt will be appearing alongside Ryan Gosling in the upcoming action flick, “The Fall Guy.” The movie is an adaptation of the TV series by the same name, which follows a Hollywood stuntman who moonlights catching bail jumpers. However, no official details about the movie’s plot or Blunt’s character have been released just yet.
“Bullet Train” director David Leitch — a former Hollywood stuntman himself — will helm the project. “The Fall Guy” will premiere in theatres on March 1, 2024.
