Nelly Furtado and husband Demacio Castellon have ended their nine-year marriage, with the Canadian singer-songwriter confirming the news on a British chat show. “I’m single now," quipped Furtado. "Someone needs to update my Wikipedia — it’s not helping my dating life!”
David Schwimmer And Zoe Buckman Announce Separation
After six years of marriage, actor David Schwimmer and wife Zoe Buckman confirm to Entertainment Tonight that they are talking "some time apart."
The couple's full statement reads:
"It is with great love, respect and friendship that we have decided to take some time apart while we determine the future of our relationship. Our priority is, of course, out daughter's happiness and wellbeing during this challenging time, and so we ask for your support and respect for our privacy was we continue to raise her together and navigate this new chapter for our family."
Naya Rivera Reportedly Files For Divorce
Naya Rivera has reportedly filed for a divorce from Ryan Dorsey, her husband of two years. The former "Glee" star is also apparently requesting primary custody of the couple's one-year-old child.
The Weeknd + Bella Hadid
Say it ain't so!
Toronto artist The Weeknd and model Bella Hadid have reportedly called it quits on their year-and-a-half-long relationship.
According to sources, the pair couldn't make it work with their busy schedules. Despite their breakup, however, a source says "a great deal of love remains," which is good since they will both grace the Victoria's Secret runway in a few weeks.
Ryan Phillippe Calls It Quits
Ryan Phillippe and fiancee Paulina Slagter have reportedly ended their relationship of five years. Phillippe proposed to Slagter over Christmas last year.

Together since 2005, Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts announced they're separating. “Over the past few months we’ve come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple," the stars of "Ray Donovan" and "King Kong" said in a joint statement. "It is with great love, respect, and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship." Never married, the couple have two chidren, aged nine and seven.
Jana Kramer And Husband Michael Caussin
Last month (August 2016) the country singer and her husband split when it was revealed Caussin was being treated in a rehab centre for undisclosed reasons, leaving Kramer understandably distraught but hopeful, it seems. The "Circles" singer has yet to remove her wedding band.
Kat Dennings & Josh Groban
We really wanted this one to work but it was "work" that stood in the way of their love. Like so many celebrity relationships, theirs was put asunder, thanks to their demanding careers.
Groban has said in an earlier interview, "The fact we're both in the industry can be more of a challenge because we're always travelling and working."
The breakup was, according to a source, an amicable one, citing timing was an issue. So let's not write this one off just yet.
Nick Young & Iggy Azalea
This one fell apart rather quickly -- from announcing their engagement in June 2015 to calling it quits a year later. When it goes from euphoria to nightmarish so suddenly, there is usually only one reason: infidelity. For a "she said/he said" commentary, let's turn to social media.
Iggy: "Unfortunately although I love Nick and have tried and tried to rebuild my trust in him, it's become apparent in the last few weeks I am unable to. I genuinely wish Nick the best. It's never easy to part ways with the person you planned you're [sic] entire future with, but futures can be rewritten and as of today mine is a blank page."
Ariana Grande & Ricky Alvarez
Ariana obviously never heard the old adage, "Don't scr*w the crew." If she had, she perhaps never would have hooked up with Ricky, one of her dancers. It started so sweetly (literally, as they were first linked when they starred in a donut shop's surveillance video). But, as is the norm these days, cryptic social media posts hinted at dark days ahead. Or, in Ariana's case, a new haircut. "Life is wild... and change is f**king fantastic," she said in a series of July 2016 tweets. "Change. feelin free. happy. Banginnnnnnn." Before month's end, they were done.
Jennifer Lopez And Casper Smart
Another singer who, like Ariana Grande, got involved with a dancer only to see it come to naught. Lopez started dating Beau "Casper" Smart in 2011 shortly after her split from then-husband Marc Anthony. Though the couple split briefly in 2014, they reconciled, only to split for good (we presume) in August 2016. A source says the split was amicable and given this isn't their first split, who knows if they'll be dancing partners again.
Mary J Blige & Kendu Isaacs

Couples that work together don't usually work out. Ask Mary J Blige and her longtime manager Kendu Isaacs. Though married for 13 years, the couple cited irreconcilable differences for the split in July. Blige was more specific in a 2014 interview: “He always has my back – he’s going to fight to the death for Mary J. Blige. The downside is that there’s no separation – it’s on all the time. When you don’t feel like answering to your manager, he’s still your husband.”
Taylor Kinney & Lady Gaga
This one came out of nowhere, seemingly against the tide of PDA that flooded their social media accounts. All that came to an abrupt end in July when Lady Gaga beseeched her fans to "root" the engaged couple on. "Just like all couples we have ups and downs and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the love we have always shared." No word on whether the online cheer squad was successful but it's rumoured that Gaga's new song, "Perfect Illusion", was written about Kinney.

Though one of the longest relationships on this list it nevertheless ended in July after 10 years. Reps for the couple vouch for an amicable split, stating, "Diane Kruger and Josh Jackson have decided to separate and remain friends."
Nicolas Cage & Alice Kim
42-year old Nic Cage met 22-year old Alice Kim when she was working as a waitress at a Korean club in Los Angeles. By 2004 they were married. By 2016 they were not. Was it the age gap? The geographical gap, due to Cage's work schedule? Though rumours of Kim's infidelity circulate, a rep for the couple reported in June that they had in fact been apart since January. It has to be mentioned Nic and Alice share a child, the awesomely named Kal-el Coppola Cage.
Johnny Depp & Amber Heard
Egad, did this one turn ugly. Then litigious. Depp, divorces, depositions, Doug Stanhopes, dozen witnesses, dismembered digits... the alliteration goes on and on. Seems like the only positive from all this acrimony is Heard's request that Depp's settlement cheques be donated to charity. It almost makes all of the fighting, which at times seemed longer than the actual marriage, worth it, doesn't it?
Wilmer Valderrama & Demi Lovato
After six years, Lovato, 23, and Valderrama, 36, posted a joint statement on their Instagram account. "After almost 6 loving and wonderful years together, we have decided to end our relationship," the joint statement began.
"This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends."
Taylor Swift & Calvin Harris
A breakups gallery wouldn't be complete without a slide (or, in this case, 2) dedicated to T-Swift. She and DJ Calvin Harris looked so happy on Instagram (as most often do) during their 15 months together but it wasn't enough to circumvent a breakup in June. The couple maintained "love and respect" for each other days after the split but have since poured their emotions into their music like all good songwriters do. The "he sang/she sang" continues to go on, with fans scrutinizing every lyric have written in the past few months.
Taylor Swift & Tom Hiddleston
Perhaps it was its almost immediate following of the Swift-Harris breakup but this union never really seemed real, with many calling it a PR stunt ("PR" in this case not meaning "perfect romance"). It soon came to mean "past romance" in early September when Taylor put the brakes on the three-month relationship. The reason? Another acronym: PDA. Taylor was leery of such a public relationship, while Tom wanted to shout their love from the rooftops.
Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie

This is the big one. The one that ended what at the time seemed the perfect marriage between Pitt and Jennifer Aniston has itself come crashing down after two years of marriage (but arguably 12 years of togetherness). It has rocked the celebrity world, the online world, and yes, even the real world, with many asking each other, "Where were you when you heard?" We can only assume Jen Aniston was sitting poolside with a pina colada in her hand and a smirk on her face.
