Starring Saoirse Ronan as the charismatic Mary Stuart, widowed at 18 who defies the pressure to remarry, instead, travelling from France to her native Scotland to reclaim the throne.
As Mary clashes with Queen Elizabeth I, played by Margot Robbie, tensions between England and Scotland rise and lead to an epic clash between two queens determined to rule as more than just a figurehead.

Starring: Emily Blunt, Lin-Manuel Miranda
Emily Blunt is stepping into Julie Andrews’ shoes as Mary Poppins, who, in “Mary Poppins Returns” reunites with Jane and Michael Banks as adults.
The film focuses on Poppins' supercalifragilistic ability to bring joy -- something needed in the Banks family after a family tragedy sees Michael’s three children – Annabel, Georgie and John – left without joy.
Lin-Manuel Miranda co-stars as Jack, a street lamplighter, who boasts a strong similarity to Dick Van Dyke’s “chim chiminey” sweep from the 1964 film, Meryl Streep as Poppins' cousin Topsy, Emily Mortimer as Jane Banks and Colin Firth as William Weatherall Wilkins.

In Theatres: 2018
Starring: Elle Fanning
The 2015 YA novel by Jennifer Niven is getting the big screen treatment starring Elle Fanning as Violet, a girl who befriends a boy name Finch after finding him atop a bell tower determined to end his life.
Although the role of Finch hasn’t been cast yet, author Jennifer Niven has been VERY vocal about casting “Riverdale” star Cole Sprouse.

Starring: Daisy Ridley, Tom Felton, Naomi Watts.
A re-imagining of Shakespeare’s play “Hamlet”, "Ophelia" stars Daisy Ridley, Naomi Watts, Tom Felton, Clive Owen and more.
Ridley plays Ophelia, the queen’s most trusted lady-in-waiting who, after capturing the attention of the handsome Prince Hamlet, begins a forbidden love affair.
Adapted from Lisa Klein’s novel, the film focuses on a brewing war that threatens to tear Elsinore Castle apart from within, leaving Ophelia to choose between true love and her life to protect a dangerous secret.

Starring: Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Walton Goggins
A finale “Maze Runner” fans have been waiting for. “The Death Cure” was postponed for almost an entire year after star Dylan O’Brien sustained injuries on set.
The film sees Thomas continue his journey to save his friends, leading his group of escaped Gladers on their final and most dangerous mission yet. And yes, they have another maze to navigate.
Breaking into the legendary Last City (another WCKD-controlled labyrinth) the group searches for the cure for the deadly disease the “flare,” but at what cost?

James Corden brings the classic children’s tale to life, embodying Peter Rabbit in the live-action film that tells the story of a wily rabbit, who continually tries to sneak into a farmer’s garden.
Domhnall Gleeson steps away from the dark side to play the farmer who steals Rose Byrne’s affections and finds a formidable foe in the rabbit behind the legend.

The final film in the “Fifty Shades” sage, teases fans to come for the wedding, but to stay for the climax in Christian and Ana’s relationship. After getting married, the pair return from a honeymoon, but find their lifetime of happiness is threatened when Ana’s boss, Jack returns with a dangerous plan as another life milestone derails Christian and Ana’s relationship.

Following in the footsteps of Charlize Theron’s “Atomic Blonde” Jennifer Lawrence is getting into the spy game in 2018 with her starring role in “Red Sparrow”.
Based on the novel by Jason Matthews, Lawrence plays ballerina Dominika Egorova, who, after a devastating accident, is recruited into “sparrow school” -- a Russian intelligence service that forces her to use her body as a weapon.
Dominika rises through the ranks, becoming one of the deadliest sparrows of all. Her first mission, however, in which she must track a CIA agent (Edgerton), threatens to unravel the security of both nations.

Winfrey, Witherspoon and Kaling star as Meg’s mysterious guides, playing Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Who respectively with Chris Pine starring as her lost father.

Watts continually attempts to win “Anorak’s Game,” created be the recently deceased creator of OASIS, and a challenge that boasts full ownership of the organization and the creator’s $240 billion fortune.

Starring: Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh, Ken Jeong
Kevin Kwan’s debut novel Crazy Rich Asians is ready to make a splash on the big screen.
The story follows Rachel Chu, played by “Fresh Off the Boat” star Constance Wu, an NYC economics professor who goes on a family vacation with her boyfriend to Singapore, Nick Young, played by Henry Golding, to attend his best friend’s wedding.
Turns out, he’s a multi-zillionaire son of an affluent Asian family and the wedding they’re attending is the social event of the year.
Veteran actor Michelle Yeoh plays Nick’s overprotective mother Elanor, with Ken Jeong playing the father to Rachel’s Singapore bestie, “Ocean’s 8” star Awkwafina.

Starring: Ruth Wilson, Domhnall Gleeson, Will Poulter
Set in 1948, Ruth Wilson plays Caroline Ayres, a woman living a simple life with her proud mother, played by Charlotte Rampling and disabled veteran brother Roderick, played by Will Poulter and a servant girl. Domhnall Gleeson plays Dr. Faraday, who is called home to help a patient at the Ayres home, Hundreds Hall, but little does he know what murderous entity lies in wait.

In the futuristic YA novel, the government tries to intern and suppress young people with special abilities, including 16-year-old Ruby.
After being sent to Thurmond, the brutal government “rehabilitation camp” for teenagers who survived the mysterious disease, but emerged with something far more frightening Ruby learns the truth and escapes.
Her only hope it to make it to the safe haven for kids with her “abilities” – East River but when she gets there, nothing is as it seems.
No stranger to YA novel’s turned big budget adaptations, “The Hunger Games” star Amandla Stenberg is all grown up in the Alexandra Bracken bestseller.

Julianne Moore helms the beautiful but tragic story of an opera singer whose glitzy performance at a Japanese embassy in an unspecified South American country turns into a turbulent affair when rebel fighters take everyone hostage.
Based on the 2001 novel of the same name by Ann Patchett, the film also stars Ken Watanabe as Katsumi Hosokawa, an esteemed industrialist with a deep admiration for Moore's character.

Starring: Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe, Joel Edgerton, Lucas Hedges
Hedges stars as Jared, a gay son of a Baptist pastor, played by Russell Crowe, who is forced to enroll in a conversion program put on by his church.
The breakout star from “Manchester by the Sea” will be joined by Cherry Jones, Flea and Canadian director Xavier Dolan with Joel Edgerton writing, directing and starring in the film.

Celebrating the 45th anniversary of Apollo 11's moon landing and telling the story of one of America's most famous astronauts, "First Man" is no small step for Hollywood.
Based on the biography by James R. Hansen (which was based on over 50 hours with the intensely private Neil Armstrong), the film takes you behind-the-scenes with an American hero.
Ryan Gosling plays the famed Astronaut, re-teaming with his "La La Land" director Damien Chazelle and co-staring "The Crown" star Claire Foy as Armstrong's wife.
The film made its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, and will also screen at TIFF.

In the first book since Stieg Larsson’s death, the Millennium series continues, with author David Lagercrantz taking over and it seems the film adaptations are continuing as well with “The Crown” star Claire Foy stepping in for Rooney Mara and “Borg vs. McEnroe” star Sverrir Gudnason as Mikael Blomkvist.
The film centers on Blomkvist, who while struggling to make Millennium mag marketable again, finds himself embroiled in an international entanglement and crossing paths with the remarkable Lisbeth Salander.

Starring: Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Johnny Depp, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Zoe Kravitz, Ezra Miller, Callum Turner, Claudia Kim
The sequel to the “Harry Potter” prequel, “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” focuses on the dark wizard caught at the end of the first film: Gellert Grindelwald.
After escaping capture from MACUSA, Grindelwald gathers followers, most of whom are unaware of his real agenda: the rise of pure-blood wizards (sound familiar?).
Jude Law joins the cast as a young Albus Dumbledore, who enlists everyone’s favourite defender of magical beings, Newt Scamander, to help him track down a dangerous wizard in Paris.
Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol and Dan Fogler return as Newt’s band of merry and muggle misfits, while Ezra Miller returns as the repressed wizard Credence, whom, we found out in the first film, was actually an Obscurial.
Other new faces in the cast include Callum Turner as Newt’s brother Theseus, Zoe Kravitz as Leta Lestrange, who is, yes, related to Bellatrix from the “Potter” series and whom we briefly saw in photographic form as one of Newt’s possessions.
