Springing Into Shape
Another gravity-defying look from the Mrs. Ws! This time, Kaling’s Mrs. Who rocks a spring-inspired hair-do that is truly other-worldly.
Braided Buns For Mrs. Who
From one sci-fi movie to another! Here, Mindy Kaling’s character Mrs. Who channels Princess Leia, sporting two braided buns and adding a modern fringe. The hairstyle beautifully frames Kaling’s face, which is enhanced with a combination of dark shades of makeup.
A plot as fantastical as “A Wrinkle in Time” deserves makeup and costumes to match — and so it comes as no surprise that the looks worn by the cast raise a few eyebrows here and there. “[Oprah Winfrey’s] wardrobe was fantastic, and we pull from the wardrobe,” LaLette Littlejohn, head of the makeup department, told The Washington Post. “We tried to make her look as strong as possible.”
Our first glimpses of the movie show bold looks and lots of colour! In one of her most eye-catching costumes, Oprah sports a platinum blonde wig of curls, a smokey eye, metallic lip and a bejewelled unibrow. Needless to say, the look is quite a departure from the media mogul’s go-to style.
A Scuptural Up-Do For Mrs. Which
In what is quite possibly the most dramatic look of the entire film, Oprah pulls off a sculptural platinum-blonde up-do, a third bejewelled eyebrow, teal eyeshadow and another metallic lip. And if that wasn’t enough to make a statement, Mrs. Which slips on a metallic feathered blouse featuring mermaid-like panels and yellow stripes!
Green With Envy For Mrs. Whatsit's Lips
Another intergalactic look is worn by Reese Withersoon’s character, Mrs. Whatsit. Combining a pale complexion, red hair and a green lip, Witherspoon is barely recognizable in her newest role!
The Embellished Unibrow
Mrs. Which rocks a second version of her signature look — the embellished unibrow. This time, makeup artist LaLette Littlejohn paired brow with a bold eye and a merlot-coloured lip.
Fire In Your Eyes
You simply cannot miss Red's piercing red eyes! Played by Michael Pena, his bloodshot peepers flash on-screen during the movie's trailers, suggesting all things menacing on the horizon.
Mrs. Whatsit's Ginger Strands
For one of Reese Witherspoon’s most subdued looks from the film, her character Mrs. Whatsit rocks effortless, windswept ginger waves and packs on the eyeliner and contrasting eyeshadow to fit in with the rest of her trio.
