Tonya Lee Williams
“Young and the Restless” alum Tonya Williams spent 20 years playing the role of Dr. Olivia Barber. Having immigrated to Oshawa, Ontario, Williams began her acting career on Canadian soil as a teen, appearing in television commercials. She would go on to enrol in Ryerson University’s drama program in Toronto.
Hailing from Alberta, actor Jason Thompson has carved out a solid daytime career after starring in “General Hospital” for 11 years. In 2016, he joined the cast of “The Young and the Restless”, starring as Billy Abbott on the Global soap opera.
Trinidadian-Canadian actress Mishael Morgan was raised in Toronto, where she began her career with roles on the Canadian series’ “The Best Years”, “Family Biz” and “Republic of Doyle”. Following appearances in films “Casino Jack” and “Total Recall”, Morgan landed the role of Hilary Curtis on “The Young and the Restless”.
Genoa City’s Mackenzie Browning was brought to life by Montreal native Kelly Kruger. The fresh-faced star took on the role for 53 episodes in 2002. She has since gone on to appear in “Criminal Minds”, “Bones”, Entourage”, “Republic of Doyle”, and most recently completed three years on “The Bold and the Beautiful”.
Shemar Moore’s Canadian connection stems from his grandmother, who hails from Quebec City. Genoa City’s resident rebel began making the ladies swoon as soon as he stepped foot onto the CBS set in 1994.
The Toronto-born Beau Kazer kicked off his acting career with the role of Brock Reynolds on “The Young and the Restless”. In total, Kazer played the role for 16 years. When he wasn’t filled the Reynolds’ shoes, Kazer took on roles on “General Hospital”, “Barnaby Jones” and Hart to Hart”. Kazer passed away in 2014.
Donnelly Rhodes (Centre)
The late Donnelly Rhodes is best known for his role as Phillip Chancellor II on “The Young and the Restless”. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the National Theatre School of Canada graduate appeared on the Canadian-filmed dramas “Da Vinci’s Inquest”. “Street Legal” and “Battlestar Galactica”. He starred on the notable soap from 1974 to 1975.
Born in Grand Rapids Michigan, and raised in Toronto, Jess Walton began her acting career at the tender age of 17 when she joined the Toronto theatre company. She made the big move to Hollywood in 1969 and soon signed with Universal Studios. After a brief battle with drugs and alcohol, Walton returned to television as Jill Foster Abbott on “The Young and the Restless”. The role won her a Daytime Emmy Award for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
