Whether you’re attending the royal wedding and want to make sure in advance that you have dance moves to spare, or you’re hosting a party early on a Saturday morning (4:30 a.m. ET to be exact) to watch a pair of strangers arrive to their wedding on Global TV and you want to have an imaginary but inspired wedding playlist on hand, then you are definitely on the right page because here’s a bunch of songs that make perfect sense as the soundtrack to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding celebration.

Like Paul McCartney, this guy is always there playing for the royals, plus he had a well-known and close friendship with Harry's late mother Princess Diana. In fact, instead of the DJ spinning a classic like "This Is Your Song", it's likely that John will be there in person, and perhaps to perform. Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith have also shown interest in performing live and so has one of the most important acts in British pop history ...

These cultural icons have sold over 85 million albums. They're a must-have for any dance-related occasion and don't give us that megamix: We want the original versions in full and we want them early and often. And if we were marrying a prince, we'd hatch some manner of royal command performance to regroup the fearless five. But could the five Spice Girls become one once more for a royal wedding reunion performance? Our ET Spice Girls source says: “Although there is no plan to have the Spice Girls perform, it is a wedding... and who knows what could spontaneously happen.”

Back when Meghan wanted a Christmas playlist for The Tig, she reached out to the best curator she could think of: Canadian crooner Michael Buble, whose holiday songs are classic. But does he have a song perfect for a May wedding? "Beautiful Day" and "Everything" would be great choices.

This one is so obvious that we just want to get it out of the way straight off. First, this 1976 hit with a four-on-the-floor beat is a wedding reception standard. Second, ABBA has just announced a reunion so it's sooo relevant. Third: the title is "Dancing Queen" and — little known fact — the groom's grandmum is literally a Queen! Fourth: The Telegraph reported "Dancing Queen" was played at William and Kate's wedding. It's a shoo-in for the royal playlist.

The bride-to-be lived in Toronto for almost a decade, but you don't need to be a local to be a fan of Toronto electronic pop stars Dragonette. They're featured on this hit that was released in March 2018. Dragonette has been featured on playlists Meghan has shared online in the past, including on her former lifestyle website The Tig.

Ed Sheeran is a staple of modern wedding event playlists... in fact, he makes up such an important part of our current culture's romantic event soundscape that we're genuinely worried about what will be played at Ed Sheeran's own wedding! Will his first dance with his new wife be to his own hit, "Perfect," like everyone else's? And more crucially to the topic at hand: will it be the soundtrack to Harry and Meghan's first dance? Only you can decide. (Note: you don't actually get to decide unless you are, in fact, DJing the royal wedding and/or choosing the song for their first dance. There's no 1-888 number to call in and vote but that'd be cool. We'll drop that in the palace suggestion box, okurr?)

Welcome to pun territory (because the band name, see?), where "Somebody to Love" would be a great choice for Meghan and Harry's wedding but "Fat Bottomed Girls" would be an amazing choice. We would all be amazed. It's harder and harder to get amazed these days. It's up to the royals now. And their DJ. Hi.

It is customary for royals to pay respect to one another and one way Harry and Meghan could honour the King of (We the) North would be to launch into this banger on the dance floor. Of course Meghan spent a lot of time in the 6ix, listening to Drizzy's beats while she was filming "Suits", so he would be an obvious choice.

Here's another artist we know that the bride-to-be favours because Meghan has included the Kansas City triple threat on her public playlists in the past. Listen for Janelle Monae's duet with Miguel, "Primetime", to pop up during wedding festivities.

Sam Smith has publicly professed his love for the royals, telling The Sun: "I'm obsessed. I want to sing at the wedding. Oh my god, I'd love to. It would be a dream."

Legendary musician Bruce Springsteen and Prince Harry exchanged a bro-handshake centre stage at the Invictus Games closing ceremony in Toronto last year. So we just might see the rocker perform at the royal wedding, but regardless he's a must-have on their DJ's playlist.

What would be even better than Springsteen performing at Harry and Meghan's reception? Canadian crooner - and dear friend of Harry's late mother Princess Diana's - Bryan Adams singing "Everything I Do" at the momentous occasion - or at least the newlyweds slow dancing to the romantic ballad. Who knows, anything can happen at a wedding and maybe Adams and Springsteen could surprise Harry and Meghan by belting out another epic duet like they did at the Invictus Games, but this time in their honour.
