Born in Hackney, London Idris Elba became an instant heartthrob as soon as he stepped into the spotlight.

One of his first roles was on the soap opera "Family Affairs" in 1997.

Back in February, Idris popped the question to longtime girlfriend, Canadian model Sabrina Dhowre ahead of the premiere of his movie "Yaddie".

From making a name for himself in "The Wire" to winning a Golden Globe in 2012 for his work on "Luther", Idris is quickly becoming a veteran actor.

Idris has been a part of many amazing projects, including "Star Trek", Marvel movies and the upcoming film adaptation of the musical "Cats".

In 2012, Idris made his directorial debut with Mumford and Sons' "Lover of The Light" music video.

Just like Kelly Kapoor (Mindy Kaling), when Idris, a.k.a Charles Minor, stepped into his first scene on "The Office, we all swooned.

While he was a temporary replacement for Steve Carell's Michael Scott at Dunder Mifflin, we loved seeing him on our screens.
