Just a year after releasing “Wannabe”, the British pop group were officially recognized for not just their music but their legendary outfits. The 1997 MTV Awards showed us the beginning of all the classics we would see for years to come. Victoria Beckham’s impeccable LBD, Emma’s baby doll dress, Mel B’s leopard print ensemble, Geri’s eclectic show girl outfit, Mel C making athleisure a thing years before it happened, and not to mention the most fascinating shoes the world had ever seen.

One of the most epic Spice-Girl moments ever! Their first three singles rode to top the charts, but their performance at the 1997 Brit Awards would go on to be a defining moment in their career. The fashion choices would make this unforgettable with Geri Halliwell’s Union Jack dress…or shirt? Victoria Beckham’s daring white bikini, and Mel B’s plunging neckline leopard jumpsuit.

In the now-famous photo, Sporty Spice wore Kappa track pants, Ginger channelled an inner ice-skating princess, Baby favoured pink and pig tails, Scary rocked a monochromatic suit, and Posh wore her classic LBD. During the event, Mel B and Geri Halliwell broke royal protocol by kissing Princes Charles on the cheek!

Mel B was still showing off her amazing torso, while Posh opted for a bold colour instead of her usual black. Their performance of “Holler” would end up being their last and the girls went on hiatus a month later.
2007: World Tour Announcement
This is “Too Much”! After parting ways, the fab five announced they would reunite with a world tour, and showcased their new looks. Posh goes blonde, Ginger goes boho in a floral maxi dress, and the others keep it fairly low-key. We still see their individual personas shining through, but it looks like the days of the bare torsos and skimpy bra tops are over.
