BTS
BigHit
His name is Kim Namjoon but as the leader of the world’s most popular boy band, BTS, he’s known as RM (formerly known as Rap Monster). That’s his rap featured in the band's new trailer, featuring the album's first track, "Persona". While their ‘Love Yourself’ album trilogy continues to dominate the charts, BTS — which also includes members J-Hope, Suga, Jin, Jungkook, Jimin, and V — calls their new sonic chapter their “Map of the Soul” era. The new record, ‘Map of the Soul: Persona’ drops April 12 and the next night, you can see the group’s "Saturday Night Live" debut.

Khalid
RCA
The multi-platinum-selling global R&B superstar will drop his sophomore album, ‘Free Spirit’, on April 5. The lead single, “Self”, is due to replace “Love Lies”, his #1 hit duet with Normani, as the song you can’t get out of your head. Embrace it. It’s groovy and introspective. And now so are you. That’s the magic of Khalid.

Reba McEntire
Universal
What’s the magic of Reba? Well, the two-time Grammy winner was also a competitive barrel racer so I know not the source of her magic but only of its legendary strength. She’s got strong magic, in fact, some might say it’s ‘Stronger Than the Truth’ and I would point out that, actually, that is the title of her new album, out April 5.

Sara Bareilles
Sony
T Bone Burnett produced ‘Amidst the Chaos’, the upcoming sixth studio album by this American singer-songwriter, who found success in 2007 with her hit, "Love Song". The new record's lead single, "Armor", came out back in October and we can expect the full album on April 5.
Also out April 5 is 'Interview Music,' the eighth record from Scottish rockers Idlewild.

Pink
RCA Records
We’re pleased that Pink is a perennially present pop star but it did make us pause to ponder, Hey, when is the last time Pink put out an album? (It was ‘Beautiful Trauma’ back in 2017; the Grammy-nominated record was the third-highest-selling record of the year.) Pink, a mother of two who will turn 40 this fall, has sold over 90 million records worldwide, making her one of the world's bestselling music artists. Her new record, 'Hurts 2B Human', is due to drop on April 26 and the lead single, “Walk Me Home,” already has over five million views on YouTube.
Also out on April 26 is the highly anticipated new record from alt-rockers the Mountain Goats: 'In League with Dragons' (Merge Records) was produced by Mississagua's Owen Pallett.

Broken Social Scene
Arts & Crafts Records
It feels like they just released a record. Because they did. In February, they unleashed their 'Let’s Try the After – Vol. 1' EP. And here we are, reporting on the pending release of 'Let’s Try the After – Vol. 2' already. We do declare this Canadian band's output to be prodigious. There are a lot of people in this band (a lot) and maybe that’s why they’re able to crank out the quality at such a pace: it’s a function of human resources. Let this be a lesson. 'Vol. 2' is out April 12.

LSD (Labrinth, Sia, and Diplo)
2019 Records/Columbia
LSD: it’s not just what the Beatles received from their dentist. It’s also a supergroup made up of British musician Labrinth, Australian singer Sia and American music producer Diplo. (We feel like we should launch a letter-writing campaign to advocate that a Canadian be added to this pan-national band. Are you on board?) Their self-titled album drops April 12.

Rob Thomas
Atlantic
You know him as the lead singer of alternative rock band Matchbox Twenty and also as that guy who collabed with Santana on the 1999 smash hit "Smooth". 'Chip Tooth Smile' is the multi-Grammy winner's fourth solo album and it's out on April 26.

Danko Jones
Rise Above Records
'A Rock Supreme,' due out April 26, is the Toronto hard rock trio's followup to last year's 'Wild Cat' album. "A Rock Supreme is the name of our new studio album. There are 11 songs on it, and they're all fantastic," Jones said in a statement. "Trust me — we know what we're doing when it comes to hard rock." Trust.

Brooks & Dunn
The superstar country duo who haven’t released an album since 2007 are back with something new on April 5. ‘Reboot’ (note: we love this clever name) has 12 Brooks & Dunn hits reworked as collabs with some of today’s hottest country stars, including Thomas Rhett, Jon Pardi, Ashley McBryde, Brothers Osborne, Brett Young, Midland, Cody Johnson, LANCO and Tyler Booth. It’s going to be major. Also major? These guys are being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame this year, plus they’re headed out on tour. They’ll play the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, Alberta, on August 4 and, yep, that sounds about right.

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard
Flightless
Out April 26 is 'Fishing for Fishies', the fourteenth studio album by Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, which is the gold standard for band names. This septet are going out on a serious world tour. They'll play August 17 at the Harbour Event Centre in Vancouver, August 25 at Rebel in Toronto, and August 26 at L'Olympia de Montréal. Note: album cover depicts fire fishing in a cave. Do not attempt. This task is suitable for robots only.
