Old Dominion
Sony
This five-man band from Nashville is a two-time ACM winner for Group of the Year so when they drop a new album, like they’re about to do on October 25, country fans rejoice. ‘Happy Endings’ is their third disc and their latest single is “One Man Band”.

Skydiggers
Capitol
Back in 2017, Josh Finlayson and Andy Maize of the Toronto ‘90s roots-rock band Skydiggers were grieving the loss of loved ones through music. Then they went on a writing retreat at the esteemed Banff Centre and before long, they were recording at the Hip’s famed Bathouse Studio. The result is ‘Let's Get Friendship Right’, due out October 4. They’re playing a handful of dates this fall, some with Cowboy Junkies and LeE HARVeY OsMOND, and some with Donovan Woods and Basia Bulat, if you’re wondering what an all-star Canadian singer-songwriter lineup looks like these days. Check for dates in your neighbourhood here.

Kim Gordon
Matador
‘No Home Record’ is out October 11 and it’s a curious album title for her to choose because the Sonic Youth co-founder just moved back home to LA after a minute on America’s East Coast so this should be a ‘Yes Home Record’. Sorry — did we just refer to Kim Gordon as ‘the Sonic Youth co-founder’? Because that’s true, but it’s also a reductive description of this super-prolific, influential, and experimental musical genius.

Lea Michele
Sony
“Christmas is my favourite holiday and it has always been such a special time with my family. I am so excited to share the songs I grew up with and I hope it brings listeners a lot of joy this season!" Michele said in a statement and BAM! You didn’t think you’d get so much Christmas, so unexpectedly, this early in the year, right? Well, you only have to wait until October 25, which is when Michele will lead the glittery parade of the dozens of new Christmas albums that will be released this year with 'Christmas in the City'. This features collabs with fellow ‘Glee’ alum Darren Criss, ‘Spring Awakening’ co-star Jonathan Groff, and Broadway’s Cynthia Erivo.
It doesn’t feature Harry Connick Jr. though but that’s okay because he has a record out on October 25, too, and it’s called ‘True Love: A Celebration of Cole Porter’ and it’s a collection of George Gershwin classics — just kidding, you knucklehead! It’s a collection of Cole Porter standards! Hah!

Van Morrison
Exile Productions
You just heard this Northern Ireland legend collab with corresponding Canadian legend Robbie Robertson on his smoking’ track, “Paint the Walls”. Now Morrison is releasing his sixth album in four years, ‘Three Chords and the Truth’, and that’s probably all the chords and fuss he has time for, based on his production schedule. It’s out October 25 and it features a duet with the Righteous Brothers’ Bill Medley. Morrison has lined up a residency at the London Palladium in March 2020 in case you’re going to be in that neighbourhood in the spring, eh?

Guided by Voices
GBV INC
We can’t tell you about all Guided by Voices albums. We’d like to, because these ‘90s Ohio indie rockers are super. But if we told you about all Guided by Voices albums, it would be all that we do. This is their third record this year alone.
This.
Year.
Alone.
'Sweating the Plague', out October 25, is their 29th album, you guys. They’re too fast for us. According to a release, "'Sweating The Plague' is constructed as a classic 12-song album experience, made to be played loud.” Act accordingly.
