Super Bowl Sunday: Which Famous Fans Are Cheering For Which Team

Super Bowl Sunday is inching closer and while some of us will be tuned in purely for the Jennifer Lopez and Shakira halftime show, others will be tuning in for the actual game including some famous faces who fancy football. We’ve rounded up which celebs will be cheering for the San Francisco 49ers and which will be rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Dana Carvey may have uttered the phrase "Live From New York it's Saturday Night!" many times over the course of his career, but the comic hails from the San Francisco Bay area so his loyalties lie with the 49ers and he's a proud member of Niners Nation.

Longtime fans of The Lonely Island already know how they feels about athletics, the comedy trio released a song and video in their early days called 'We Like Sportz' And then of course there was the 2019 Netflix "visual poem" called "The Unauthorized Bash Brothers Experience" where Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone pay tribute to record-breaking homerun hitters Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire. The guys also seem to love football, specifically the 49ers, as evidenced from a photo they shared on their Twitter account in 2014 of them decked out in new 49ers merch released when Levi's Stadium became the new home to the team. All three guys hail from Berkeley, Calif. on the east shore of the San Francisco Bay, so it's no surprise they're members of the Niners Nation.

The rapper and DJ may hail from Atlanta but since his hometown Falcons aren't in the running it looks like the performer is saying yeeeeaaah to the San Francisco 49ers. He performed at the half-time show during the game where the Niners knocked out the Green Bay Packers to advance to the championshipl. No word if Lil Jon will be doing shots shots shots shots shots shots shots shots shots shots shots on Super Bowl Sunday.

Paul Rudd is an unabashed Kansas City sports team aficionado. We all saw him overcome with joy and showered with champagne when the Kansas City Royals won the World Series in 2015,so it's no surprise the hometown boy is rooting majorly for the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. He truly is the celebrity king of Chiefs Kingdom.

Fans of Boys II Men were confused when the group showed up one sweet day recently to sing the US anthem at the San Francisco and Green Bay Packers game all decked out in Niners gear (after all their song was Motown Philly not Motown Sanfran) but maybe since the their hometown Philadelphia Eagles had already reached the "end of the road" in the quest to get to the Super Bowl, the guys cheered for their second fave team.

The funnyman moved to Kansas with his family when he was just 2-years-old so it's no surprise his loyalties lie with the Kansas City Chiefs going into the Super Bowl. The former "The Daily Show" correspondent even recorded a message for the Kansas City Chiefs website calling for fans to be loud and proud on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Emmy winner hails from Kansas City and just like his "Modern Family" character Cameron is devoted to his husband Mitch, Eric is devoted to his hometown NFL team and a proud member of of the Chiefs Kingdom. But he's not just a fan, the actor is part-owner of the team.

The actor and former SNL cast member was born in Virginia but moved to Overland Park, Kansas as a child and still considers it his hometown (he's participated in several charity initiatives for Children's Mercy Hospital alongside Eric Stonestreet, Rob Riggle, and Paul Rudd) so he will be among the famous folks pledging their allegiance to the Chiefs Kingdom on Sunday.
