'Zoolander' (2001)
Paramount Pictures
Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video
From a freak gasoline-fight accident to a runway walkoff judged by David Bowie to an evil plan which involves the song "Relax" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood, this movie is insane and so funny. Plus David Duchovny's cameo as a hand model is worth the watch.
-
'Wedding Crashers' (2005)
Alliance
Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video
Watching Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson go back and forth with their witty dialogue is enough reason to watch this one. Then Isla Fisher turns up the funny playing an unhinged lover.
-
'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' (2000)
Blackwatch Releasing
Where to watch: Crave (STARZ)
I watched this movie on a plane recently and by the end, I was silently sobbing in my sweater. I forgot how beautiful this movie is. From the iconic fight scenes to the beautiful scenery, this movie has not one but two tragic love stories.

'Bridget Jones's Diary' (2001)
Alliance Atlantis Communications
Where to watch: Netflix
Renee Zellweger as a sweet but flawed and completely relatable character illustrate why this rom-com is still so much fun. Plus who doesn't want to watch someone caught in a love triangle between Hugh Grant and Colin Firth. I'm definitely team Mark Darcy.
-
'Mean Girls' (2004)
Paramount Pictures
Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video
Quotes like, "You go, Glenn Coco" and "I'm not like a regular mom, I'm a cool mom" make this cult classic so memorable. Plus, October 3 is officially Mean Girls Day. I mean, not every movie has its own day!

'Blow' (2001)
Alliance Atlantis Communications
Where to watch: Netflix, Amazon Prime Video
In one of his best performances, Johnny Depp portrays a major American drug dealer in the '70s. Aside from Depp's perfect, blond, shoulder-length hair, the wild and toxic relationship with his first wife -- portrayed by Penélope Cruz -- is so entertaining.
-
'Gladiator' (2000)
DreamWorks Distribution
Where to watch: Netlfix, Amazon Prime Video
No wonder Russell Crowe won the Oscar for Best Actor as Maximus. He's so good in this movie. Just as impressive is Joaquin Phoenix as the villainous Commodus. That guy creeped me out throughout the entire movie.
-
'Final Destination' (2000)
Alliance Atlantis Communications
Where to watch: Crave (STARZ)
This film scarred me as a teenager. To this day, when I get on a plane I think of this movie. This supernatural horror does a good job of making you think that even if you can cheat death it may not be worth it.
-
'Click' (2006)
Columbia Pictures
Where to watch: Netflix
This Adam Sandler movie about a magical remote control is unexpectedly emotional. Sure, the laughs are there but the theme of this movie is family and what can happen when you take them for granted. And yes, I cried the first time I saw it!
-
'Freaky Friday' (2003)
Buena Vista Pictures
Where to watch: Disney+
Watching Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan act like each other after their characters switch bodies is really funny. It's impressive how much they perfected each other's mannerisms. Plus, they share great chemistry.
-
'Dan In Real Life' (2007)
Buena Vista Pictures Distribution
Where to watch: Disney+
Steve Carell plays a father who unwittingly falls in love with his brother's new girlfriend. Plus, everyone is stuck together at his parents' house for an annual family gathering so there's so much drama! The movie is also quite charming and funny.
-
'Walk The Line' (2005)
Twentieth Century Fox
Where you can watch: Crave (STARZ)
Reese Witherspoon deservedly won an Oscar for her portrayal of June Carter but Joaquin Phoenix was just as impressive with his take on Johnny Cash. Not only did they do their own singing but both actors brought this epic love story to life so convincingly.
-
'Remember The Titans' (2000)
Buena Vista Pictures
Where to watch: Disney+
Based on a true story, Denzel Washington plays a newly appointed African-American coach, who leads a high school football team on their first season as a racially integrated unit in the '70s. It's inspirational and emotional and Denzel is just so good in every movie.
-
'How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days' (2003)
Paramount Pictures
Where to watch: Netflix, Amazon Prime Video
Remember the days when Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson were the king and queen of rom-coms? I saw this movie in the theatres with my girlfriends and we were obsessed. Plus, I'm still not over that iconic yellow dress Hudson wears.
-
'Zodiac' (2007)
Paramount Pictures
Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video
This is one of my favourite David Fincher films. You become just as obsessed as the rest of the characters with solving the mystery of the Zodiac killer. It's moody and creepy and Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, and Jake Gyllenhaal make regular conversations seem so interesting.
-
Napoleon Dynamite (2004)
Fox Searchlight Pictures
Where to watch: Crave (STARZ)
This movie captures the awkward teen phase perfectly. Okay, so maybe most teens aren't as awkward as Napoleon or Pedro but then again, most teenagers can't perform an unforgettable dance routine to Jamiroquai's "Canned Heat".
-
'13 Going On 30' (2004)
Columbia Pictures
Where you can watch: Netflix
I love this movie! Similar to "Big" starring Tom Hanks, Jennifer Garner hilariously plays a 13-year-old girl who magically turns into a 30-year-old woman. It's sweet with a self-empowering message plus it's the film that introduced me to Mark Ruffalo.
-
'Panic Room' (2002)
Columbia Pictures
Where to watch: Netflix, Crave (STARZ)
Perfect for these troubled times, the movie sees a mother and daughter trapped in the panic room of their New York apartment after it is broken into. More importantly, Jared Leto somehow manages to pull off cornrows in this film.
-
'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' (2008)
Universal Pictures
Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video
Why not escape to Hawaii and watch a guy try to get over his famous ex-girlfriend who just dumped him. Except that she's also staying at the same hotel with her new boyfriend. What could possibly go wrong? There's also an epic Dracula puppet musical.
-
'Memoirs Of A Geisha' (2005)
Sony Pictures Releasing
Where to watch: Netflix
This movie is just beautiful. It won Academy Awards for both cinematography and costume design. The heartbreaking story about the life of a geisha and the love story between Sayuri and the Chairman is one to remember.
