Revisiting The ‘Happy Gilmore’ Premiere As Adam Sandler’s Classic Comedy Turns 25
On Feb. 16, 1996, the story of a hockey player who brings his powerful slapshot to the golf course made its debut, cementing Adam Sandler as a big-screen comedy powerhouse. Sandler’s second star vehicle since leaving “Saturday Night Live” launched him on a path to movie stardom; since then, Sandler’s movies have raked in more than $3 billion worldwide.
